Abstract Smalti Mirror This mirror was commissioned by a couple who had a cache of wonderful vintage smalti they inherited. The wife's mother was an artist who had a store in Southern Calif. in the 60's where she sold mosaic supplies. It was a joy to sort through some 60 pounds of the wonderful material, and choose the tesserae to use in this mirror. The design evolved with inspiration from an abstract design area rug that is in the entry way of the couple's home. The mirror hangs above it. The mirror measures 24" x 36".
