Many different materials can be used to create a mosaic surface. I work with glass, ceramic and stone. Glass is available in myriad colors and finishes, including irridescent and metallic streaked, for extra pizazz. For a more subtle and traditional look, unglazed porcelain, granite or marble may be used.

Using my graphic design skills, I especially enjoy working with the client to incorporate design elements already in the home, building or environment to create a truly custom mosaic installation.

The process of creating a custom design begins with a visit to the site and a conversation with the client. I show my portfolio and mosaic style samples, and gauge the style and taste of the client. After obtaining specifications for the proposed project, I'll work up the cost estimate. If agreeable with the client, I'll go to work on preliminary drawings, often doing two or three variations. I'll present the client drawings and sample boards of proposed materials. We'll discuss, and I'll receive feedback from the client. I'll make any changes, as needed, to the design, and then present the final design.Commissioned mosaics are priced based on many factors. Things to consider are:

• complexity of design
• materials used
• size of mosaic
• intricacy of the work
• difficulty of installation
• number and distance of site visits

Mosaics are uniquely beautiful because of the handmade nature of the work. A mosaic installation is a classic and long lasting surface covering, suitable for interior or exterior applications.Call or e-mail!
