Forks in the Road

Created especially for the "Sticks and Stones" exhibition, this piece was based on the design of another piece I did a few years ago. It explores the effect of gently flowing areas of texture and alternating colors. I thought the addition of the mossy twigs would work with the stone, smalti and other natural materials. The green of the moss went well with this particular smalti and the shards of ceramic, which is how I chose the accent colors for this otherwise neutral palette.
The piece also incudes shells, pebbles, copper and ceramic. It's framed with reclaimed cedar siding.
